GST billing software for Indian businesses
Rechvix computes CGST/SGST/IGST on every invoice, generates GST e-Invoice (IRN/QR) and e-Way Bill, and reports GSTR-1-oriented figures — as part of free, self-hosted billing software, not a paid GST module.
How GST tax calculation works
Tax isn’t a handful of hardcoded cgst/sgst columns bolted onto an invoice — it runs through a generic tax-document engine (tax_document / tax_line / tax_component tables, a TaxEngine interface) with an India GST engine as the first real implementation. Each line’s HSN/SAC code and the invoice’s place of supply decide whether it’s intra-state (CGST+SGST) or inter-state (IGST), and whether pricing is inclusive or exclusive of tax.
GST compliance features
- India GST done properly. CGST/SGST/IGST, HSN codes, place-of-supply, and inclusive/exclusive pricing — modeled through a generic tax-document engine, not a handful of hardcoded columns that break the moment the rules change.
- e-Invoice (IRN/QR) & e-Way Bill. Direct government API integration for e-Invoice and e-Way Bill generation, through versioned adapters — when GSTN changes the schema, that's a new adapter directory, not a scramble across the codebase.
Accounting that reconciles with your GST filings
- Full double-entry accounting. Customer and supplier ledgers, ageing, and a real chart of accounts — with every posted journal balanced and enforced, not assumed.
- GSTR-1 / GSTR-3B-oriented reporting. Reports structured around what you actually have to file, not a generic export you have to reshape by hand every filing cycle.
GST invoice format
A Rechvix tax invoice includes the supplier and recipient GSTIN, HSN/SAC code per line, the taxable value, the CGST/SGST or IGST breakdown at the rate applicable to each line, and the grand total — the information a valid GST tax invoice needs — printed to PDF in a choice of five layouts.
GST billing software — frequently asked questions
Yes. Tax is computed through a generic tax-document engine — tax_document/tax_line/tax_component tables and a TaxEngine interface, with the India GST engine as the first concrete implementation — based on HSN code, place of supply, and whether the supply is intra-state (CGST+SGST) or inter-state (IGST), rather than the business selecting a tax type by hand on every line.
